Nominations

Anyone may nominate another person, regardless of either person’s nationality. Self-nominations are not accepted.

Keep the nomination confidential. Please do not tell the nominee that you have put their name forward.

Who May Be Nominated

Nominations may recognise:

• Outstanding service to Kaharagia or its people
• Exceptional achievement in a particular field
• Significant charitable or humanitarian work
• Sustained service that might otherwise go unrecognised

Describe what the person has done, over what period, and who has benefited. Give specific examples to help the Chancellery assess the nomination.

How Nominations Are Considered

The Chancellery and the Honours Committee review nominations in confidence and make recommendations to the Sovereign. Each nomination is assessed on the nature, duration and impact of the service described.

The Sovereign alone decides whether to confer an honour. A nomination does not guarantee an award, and the Chancellery cannot provide progress updates or disclose the Committee’s deliberations. The Chancellery and Committee are not obliged to give reasons for their recommendations; the Sovereign’s decision is final.
